One of my senators, Bill Nelson, is giddy about NASA’s plans for a new rocket to take men to the moon, asteroids, and Mars. “The goal is to fly humans safely beyond low-Earth orbit and deep into outer space where we can not only survive, but one day also live,” said Nelson.
The U.S. government is broke and American infrastructure is deteriorating, but taxpayers are going to pay for more trips into outer space. Wow, what a brilliant idea.
Nelson also said: “In the bosom of America there is a yearning for us to explore.” Fine, just explore on your own dime, Mr. Nelson.
