Even More Comic Relief

While channel surfing I ran across Paul Krugman anwering questions at the National Press Club. One question was what he thought of the idea of the government issuing “stimulus checks” with disappearing ink that would disappear in 30 days, forcing everyone to spend the money right away. Naturally, he thought it was a great idea.

He then said that he has been wishing his entire life to be able to live through a depression, and that his dream has apparently come true. Yipeee! (Aren’t “liberals” like Krugman supposed to be concerned about the poor and the unemployed?).

Then he praised “that giant public works program,” World War II, for ending the Great Depression (which of course it did not), and said that “we” don’t understand why the Depression did not return after WW II. (Hint: The two-thirds reduction in federal spending from 1945-1948, along with the demise of the evil Roosevelt regime, was a big reason).

What an idiot. I couldn’t stomach watching more than about five minutes.
