Escobar vs. Bush

Writes Phil Hensley:

Did you catch the ESPN documentary “The Two Escobars”?  It had to do with Pablo Escobar and footballer Andres Escobar.  In the documentary they show some of the humanitarian things that Pablo Escobar did for the poor in Colombia, and then got to the part where George H.W. Bush helped the Colombian government and rival drug cartels bring Escobar down. They showed clips of Bush pledging support for Colombia (meaning his cronies in the Colombian government) and I thought: Pablo Escobar, despite being a bad man, was a greater humanitarian than any U.S. politician.  Not only did he help the poor, but he did so with his own money that he made conducting business.  Compare this to politicians that promise to do good with other people’s money, and still can’t get anything done.
