Equality of Repression

An object lesson illustrating how egalitarianism is incompatible with individual liberty can be found in the random New York City subway searches of people. The concern of most so-called “civil libertarians” who have been interviewed on television reflect the principal concern that “racial profiling” not be employed. As long as people are tyrannized by the state “without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, lifestyle, or national origin,” all is well with the world! With this kind of thinking, who knows how history would have treated Hitler had he refrained from discriminating on the basis of “suspect classifications” in his despotic programs; had he terrorized and destroyed people “equally.”
