Economic Ignorance in Corporate America

Manuel and Tom: Chrysler’s ad thanking “America . . . for investing in Chrysler” provides evidence of the kind of corporate thinking that brought this company to its present condition. A dictionary informs me that to “invest” is “to commit (money) in order to earn a financial return.” I made no such commitment, nor do I expect a “financial return” in the form of a dividend check for whatever number of shares I might have been assigned in this scheme. If this is an investment, will the management of Chrysler please send me my shares of stock so that I can sell them and cut my losses?
