Dubai-on-the-Atlantic

It’s going to be a hoot watching how all the Ay-rab hating, El Jefe Supremo Bush-loving Red-State Fascists square the circle of Bush going to the wall (so he sez at this point) to defend the Dubai Port World contract deal. Speaking like the tyrant he appears to imagine himself as (and his fans adore him as, so long as he’s waging war on heathens and liberals), Bush Jong Il said today:

“They ought to listen to what I have to say about this,” the president said. “They’ll look at the facts and understand the consequences of what they’re going to do. But if they pass a law, I’ll deal with it with a veto.”

GOP talk radio is going to be very, very amusing in the next few days. I’m betting there’s going to be a lot of cognitive dissonance on this and more than a few fried brains in Bushland.

But, in the end, the good goons of the GOP will likely line up behind their leader, bleating “2+2=5” and “We love Big Brother.” They’ll never love the Ayrabs, but they’ll find some way to blame it all on Hillary Clinton. Or judicial activism. Or something warm, fuzzy and familiar.
