Donna Summer, RIP

What the Beatles were to rock ‘n roll music in the 1960s, Donna Summer was to disco music in the 1970s and 1980s. (I’m not implying that Summer’s music was of the same caliber as the Beatles, only that she had more disco hits than any other disco artists of the time.) Summer has passed away at age 63 from cancer.

Here are some of her biggest hits (in chronological order).

“Love to Love You Baby”

“Could It Be Magic”

“Spring Affair”

“I Feel Love”

Theme from the movie The Deep

[Space]
“MacArthur Park”

[Space]
“Last Dance”

[Space]
“Heaven Knows”

[Space]
“She Works Hard for the Money”

Here’s a list of all of her singles. (By the way, in my opinion, the best music she ever produced was for the album Once Upon a Time. One might call it the “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” of disco music.)
