It is nauseating listening to Washington, D.C. politicos pretending that they have any humane concern for the fate of some 52,000 children who have entered the U.S. – illegally – from Central America. To politicians, children are but one of numerous abstractions to be exploited on behalf of power ambitions. I suspect that almost all of these 52,000 remain alive, unlike the 500,000 Iraqi children who died as a direct result of the Clinton administration’s boycott of their country; a boycott that kept life-saving food and medicines from entering Iraq. Madeleine Albright – then Secretary of State – later acknowledged that it “was worth it” to cause so many deaths of so many innocents, a sentiment that did not prevent Peace Prize Nobel Laureate, President Obama, from later conferring upon her the Medal of Freedom! Nor have make-believe humanitarian feelings led to the closing of America’s Middle East abattoir that continues to kill, maim, and terrorize children in the name of fighting terrorism!
The owners and operators of the war-machine don’t want you to know that, among the costs of the moral decay from which they profit, is the continuing war against children. This is why truth-speakers – such as Chelsea Manning, Julian Assange, Ed Snowden, Glenn Greenwald, among others – are persona non grata to the corporate-state establishment. If you would like to view the playing out of the anti-life implications of machine-gunning, bombing, and starving children, I invite you to watch a most disturbing motion picture: CHILDREN OF MEN. It is humanity, itself, against which political systems are at war; an ongoing campaign that may well lead to mankind being the first known species to intentionally extinguish itself!9:55 pm on June 29, 2014 Email Butler Shaffer
