Who wins in this battle of the politically-correct? Climate change, of course. The incandescent light bulb ban that I blogged about before is being fought by advocates for the blind. But, says the all-knowing bureaucrat, the blind can switch to (costly) halogen lights (which she fails to mention would require installing new fixtures) without losing the benefits of incandescent bulbs. She assures us that “the price will come down and technology will improve.” Here I thought that prohibitions cause price increases and slow innovation.
