DHS Targets Wikileaks and Assange

According to Wikileaks, the PATRIOT Act has been invoked by the US Department of Homeland Security to gather information about the organization. The company that hosts their domain, Dynadot, has complied with the order. Why wasn’t this heinous law repealed by the Democrat-controlled administration or congress? Recall that Obama’s campaign promises included protection for government whistle-blowers, yet his administration has been one of the worst in pursuing criminal charges against whistle-blowers and, now, one of their foremost supporters, Julian Assange. Clearly, progressive politicians care as much about free speech and transparency as the neo-cons do (i.e., not at all).
