When Glenn Beck interviewed our friends Tom Woods and Yuri Maltsev on his television show a couple of years ago on the subject of F.A. Hayek’s famous book, The Road to Serfdom, the book went to #1 in sales on Amazon.com the next day. This was because so many people immediately understood that this book, published in the middle of World War II, explained in great and learned detail how “the land of the free” has become the land of the tax slave and the welfare/warfare/police state.
I will begin teaching a five-week online course on The Road to Serfdom under the auspices of the Mises Academy beginning on July 3. There is one class each week for 45-55 minutes, followed by 20-30 minutes of Q&A. It’s best if you can attend the live classes, but if your schedule does not allow it they are all archived online for later viewing. In addition to The Road to Serfdom, some sections of Omnipotent Government by Ludwig von Mises will also be discussed.
