In yet another government move to pit citizen against citizen, the UK is developing a voluntary force of resident despots, including young children, to shoot radar speed guns at their fellow human beings.
The Community Road Watch scheme, which is designed to put the skids on inconsiderate drivers in speeding hot-spots around the town, is being rolled out by Humberside Police next month and residents ranging from children to pensioners will be asked to take part to help clock repeat offenders in their neighbourhood.
…The information collected by eagle-eyed residents, who will be working alongside local PSCOs, will then be logged by traffic enforcement officers who could then be in a position to press charges against repeat offenders.
These dangerous criminals will receive letters harassing them and threatening them with penalties, and “repeat offenders” will receive a visit from the police state. In the graduate course, one can assume that the kids and “pensioners” could move from radar guns to tasers, billy clubs, and .40 Glock containment devices.
