According to the Really Smart People at the New York Times, Ron Paul is ignorant of the facts. While ignoring Ron’s statements on U.S. militarism and its unsustainability, the editors intoned:

Representative Ron Paul ridiculously claimed that the United States is bankrupt.

I guess they have been channeling Paul Krugman on that one, but when a country cannot pay its debts unless it borrows money to make principal and interest payments, that is bankruptcy on its face. In a recent interview with Russia Today, I said that the people in Washington were as delusional as the German officers in Hitler’s bunker at the end of World War II. I guess I need to add the editors of the “Newspaper of Record” to that list.
