Well, not so daring: Gray Davis will be recalled by a large margin, and Arnold will be elected by the same. Tomorrow: time to stop hating Gray and start hating Arnold, like any planner in power.
It has been funny to watch the decline of Busta “Three Card” Monte as soon as people got a gander at him–always nice when a politician looks as crooked as he is–but he wouldn’t be a factor at all if a judge hadn’t altered the CA constitution and electoral law by fiat.
As written, those who vote to keep an officeholder may not help decide his replacement. The judge wrecked that sound procedure to make sure–as they all thought at that time–that the taxpayers would get double-Cruzed if Gray were sent sent back to the private sector.
