Crunchy Con Rod Dreher Making Inroads

Karen, just today I noticed that Crunchy Con con Rod Dreher had a book review published (Bill Kauffman’s Look Homeward, America) in the June 5 issue of The American Conservative. (Paul Gottfried gave it to me. I no longer subscribe since I can’t stomach the horrible economics–but that is the subject of another blog entry.) The back cover contains a full-page ad for The Humane Society, which is trying to get support for S. 2548 and H.R. 3858, which would “require that local and state governments develop disaster plans for animals. Pets are part of the family, and no pet should be left behind.” Although I am glad the 10th Amendment is irrelevant so it won’t interfere with this important piece of federal legislation, it is sad to see TAC accept ads that promote yet another increase in federal laws.
