Courage and Ron Paul

Writes Dwight Johnson: “At first I was disappointed when Dr Paul came in fifth at the Iowa Straw Poll. This morning at Mass the priest made this comment: ‘People are afraid of change.’ No, he wasn’t talking about the Paul campaign,
but it suddenly put new light on what is happening there. Dr Paul is asking people to consider some dramatic changes in the world they know. No more empire. No more policing of the world, throwing our weight around, proving we are the sole world power. No more Federal Reserve. No more Department of Education. Even no more IRS. As
much as people hate paying taxes, they are still proud of being called ‘taxpayers’; it makes them feel like they are contributing to something larger than themselves.

“So now, my disappointed is tempered. I am going to an art festival later today, proudly wearing my Ron Paul 2008 tee-shirt, and passing out literature. And I will remember that people are afraid of change, and will need time to find the courage that Ron Paul asks of us.

“We are here for the long-term.”
