Costs of Political Correctness

The waste in American government (measured by its own spending) is colossal, but don’t forget that it imposes and creates huge waste in all realms of social life through hundreds of thousands of perverse regulations. To point out these tremendous losses is not to say that government would be ok if instead it did some good. It’s not set up to do any good. It can’t do any good. Can anyone do any good by having power to initiate force on others with the idea of “doing them some good”? It is a rank impossibility. For an example of of the bad that government continually does, I call your attention to the “costs of political correctness.” Merely scratch the surface and you will uncover a large reservoir of discontent beneath its placid (maybe sullen) appearance. Examples, here, here, here, and here. What are the costs of not using DDT, for example?
