Correction, Please

Writes Dave Hayden: “The Ron Paul picture you posted was actually not taken by a NYT photographer, but rather a KC photographer named Richard DeYoung at a rally in Kansas City. He on the same day took one of the other most iconic images of the campaign: the redheaded girl holding up the Ron Paul sign. I used the RP image in a lot of my videos (several of which you have blogged. Thanks again) with the phrase ‘just come home’ over it.

“Typically this wouldn’t even be worth mentioning, but giving credit to the New York Times for the work of an RP fan…

“BTW, I thought this video would be up your alley. Give it a spin if you have a chance. Power to the Peaceful.”

Correction, Please

A friend writes to correct me:

Although I got drunk with him once (and found him a most unpleasant person), I carry no brief for Scalia. But in the Hamdi case, he takes the correct position that only Congress can suspend the writ of habeas corpus, and then only in cases of invasion or insurrection and when the civil courts are not in operation. In fact his dissent is about the best I seen in some time on the issue. He even takes on Lincoln. Thomas (who is usually better than Scalia), on the other hand, comes off as a nut case. (Who knows, it’s a new session, maybe they all have new law clerks.)
