Conservatives are upset (and rightly so) about a Military Times report about a lesbian soldier in Afghanistan who is becoming a man thanks to the five-month supply of hormones that she brought with her so she could give herself injections every other week. She has been working out says that she is “getting more muscle” and a deeper voice. She wants to re-enlist “at least once” because she says: “I love my job, and I have a wife and family who supports me, so why not?”
Two quick things. 1. I can remember twenty or more years ago when conservatives complained about women being in the military in the first place. Now they seem to have no problem with the idea as long as the women aren’t lesbians. 2. What are U.S. soldiers doing in Afghanistan in the first place? Why don’t conservatives have much of a problem with that?
