Congress will save us from high oil prices

I guess I should not be surprised that Bill Frist has ordered oil executives to the Hill to face the inquisition on why oil prices are high and why oil company profits also are high. Granted, it might be a ploy to head off the Democrats, who want to outright nationalize the oil industry, but why can’t someone in Washington just tell the truth once in a while?

Instead, we are going to get apologetic mumbo jumbo from executives and self-righteous babble from senators.

By the way, has anyone been able to connect the dots to the slow post-hurricane recovery and the economic controls and state interference that has followed in the wake of the storms? I certainly do not see it in the media, but then nothing intelligent comes from our “vaunted free press” anyway.
