Congress to the Rescue (of Major League Baseball)?

Perhaps it is good that Congress is turning its attention away from making things worse on the Gulf Coast, although that state of affairs cannot last. It seems that our wags on the Hill are falling over each other to introduce bills to enshrine steroids policies for Major League Baseball.

I always thought that MLB was a private organization, which meant that it set its own rules. Instead, we have those privacy-loving Democrats and those anti-Big Government Republicans destroying privacy and putting government where it does not belong. As Mercutio might say, “A pox on both their houses.” (In this case, both parties and both houses.)
