Woods, Jr., senior fellow of the Mises Institute and LRC columnist, has won the $50,000 first prize in the Templeton Enterprise Awards, for the best book in “humane economics” over the last two years. The heralded work is his wonderful and much-needed The Church and the Market: A Catholic Defense of the Free Economy.

A hearty congratulations to Tom Woods upon being slimed by the New York Times editorial page! I’m so envious; I’ve been slimed by the book review section, but the editorial page is a far higher honor. Way to go, Tom!

Frankly, if the Times were ever to write something nice about Tom’s work — or the work of just about anyone associated with the Mises Institute and LewRockwell.com — I would forever view them with suspicion and distrust.

I look forward to Tom’s response to these lame, ignorant, and juvenile editorial rantings on LRC.
