Comments on “Nailing It”

I would agree with Charles that the writer of the Nation did not have in mind a decentralized approach that gives individuals some sovereignty in this whole thing. These people still believe that one can impose socialism or communism (after all, the Nation has championed communism for nearly a century) and out of it will come a system that has “bubbled up” from “the people.”

Scott Kjar once told me that leftists and marxists often ask very good questions, and their criticisms of the existing order can be insightful. However, when it comes to their answers, well, let us just say that the questions are much better. These are people who actually believe that we can destroy human institutions and replace them with something the government “creates,” and out of this will come a great society with the New Socialist Man.
