Chicago Under Surveillance

The mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley is calling for surveillance cameras in bars, convenience stores, and other businesses open for more than 12 hours a day. Of course, many businesses have surveillance cameras, but they are there to help protect their property, not to serve the government.

We also have this:

“The safer we make the city, the better it is for everyone,” says Chicago Alderman Ray Suarez, who first proposed mandatory cameras in some businesses. “If you’re not doing anything wrong, what do you have to worry about?”

We have plenty to worry about. By the way, Daley is a Democrat, and so is Suarez. Anyone who thinks that the Democrats are going to protect our liberties ought to think again. We truly are caught in a vice grip between Republicrats and Democans.
