Chaos in Iraq?

Pentagon officials are in a dither over the publication, by the New York Times, of a military color-coded chart showing events in Iraq moving toward “chaos.” “It is really regrettable that slides of secret or classified materials manage to get out,” said the Pentagon press secretary.

Do you suppose the Pentagon fears that Iraqi insurgency groups will now figure out that the United States has made a wholesale mess out of that country? Is the concern that these groups may now begin attacking U.S. military forces? Do the Pentagon bozos expect that message to be absorbed by anyone other than the Faux News faithful?

It can’t be that the Pentagon fears having the American public know that the military, itself, now regards its criminal action to be in the “disaster” range? From whom is it important for the state to keep its “secrets” “classified”? Pogo Possum had the answer to that question over five decades ago!
