Cell Phone Update

Lots of interest in the challenge to New York’s silly cell phone law: Globe and Mail, Newsday and here’s the New York Times:

BUFFALO: A CHALLENGE TO THE CELLPHONE LAW A woman who was issued a ticket for talking on her cellphone while driving is trying to overturn the state law banning the practice. “Somebody had to do this,” said the woman, Tracy Diina, 35, who appeared in Kenmore Village Court in suburban Buffalo on Tuesday. Ms. Diina, of North Tonawanda, was stopped in September and could be fined $100 if convicted. Her lawyer, James Ostrowski, called the state law “creeping totalitarianism.” The prosecution has not filed a response to the brief challenging the law. (AP)
