SEEKING EXTRAS, FEATURED BACKGROUND & DAY PLAYER ROLES

UNIVERSAL PICTURES will be filming a major motion picture in and
around LA, Victorville & El Centro called JARHEAD –
based on the novel of the same name by Anthony Swofford. The film
is an account of life as a US Marine during the Gulf War of 1991.
(There are no combat scenes, unnecessary violence or nudity.)
Sam Mendes is Directing (AMERICAN BEAUTY, ROAD TO
PERDITION). Lead actors include Jake Gyllenhal (DAY AFTER TOMORROW) &
Jamie Foxx (COLLATERAL, RAY).Searching for: Arabic speaking men of Middle Eastern descent
18 yr – 65 yr. To portray Kuwaiti nationals, Iraqi troops & Egyptian
merchants. *Will need to cast up to

(60) men to work as extras – pay rate is >$100-$150/day

(3) Middle Eastern men ages 25yr – 35yr for speaking
roles to portray Iraqi POW’s – rate will be SAG scale.

(8) Older Middle Eastern men ages 45 – 70 to portray
Bedouins – these are speaking (Arabic) roles. Pay rate is SAG
scale of up to $650/day

No experience necessary.

Filming begins in January 2005 – March 2005. If cast, work will
require between 3-5 days within those three months.

Wonder if the ASPCA will make sure that “no actual Iraqis” are harmed in the filiming of this movie?

(NOTE: They will probably end up hiring a lot of Egyptians, Moroccans and Palestinians, so the Arabic accents will all sound funny…)
