Caesar Potus on the Eisenhower Way

Thanks, Peter for that horrific post. Imperial retinues regularly sped along the George Washington Parkway, clogging up Alexandria from I-395 to, well, wherever. Why doesn’t Bush just take that route — it’s not as if the Preatorian Guard isn’t used to carting Caesar Potus or various members of the Imperial family along that highway — if he’s going to Mt. Vernon?

Why bother with an idiotic request like this? To demonstrate power? Why bother asking to close an entire interstate down when there are alternate routes or, better yet, a helicopter, which is what Potus did anyway? Caesar Potus Maximus has, after all, a whole fleet of the things at his disposal.
