“Bush plans Iran air strike”

This article from the Asia Times was circulating the MeetUp’s today.

What is really interesting is the analysis of the outcome of such a strike. While the stated goal of the strike is to “punish Iran for its involvement in Iraq,” none of the possible outcomes suggested by the author include any sort of cooperation from Iran. Instead, the author suggests how Iran may retaliate, how Iran’s neighbors, allies, and trading partners may retaliate, and how American voters may react.

I sincerely hope that the warmongers in DC realize that the author of this article is probably correct: no good can come of a preemptive attack on Iran.
