Bush, Lincoln, and the stupid cons

Tom DiLorenzo’s column on the neocon plan to jail politicians who dissent from Bush’s wars (following in the footsteps of the sainted Father Abraham) reminded me of this gem from the lovely and talented Ann Coulter:

“When contemplating college liberals, you really regret once again that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed too. Otherwise they will turn out to be outright traitors.”

— Ann Coulter, CPAC convention, February 2002

Ever since Coulter’s book Treason came out, I have wondered why she, and her cult of stupid cons, are not calling for Bush to cancel the elections? After all, why should real Americans take the chance that 51% of the people may be conned into voting for an America-hating terrorist sympathizer who hates all religions except radical Islam?

If Bush did cancel the elections I am sure he would get plenty of support form the liberventionists, who would somehow distort the traditional arguments against voting and mass democracy into support for totalitarianism.
