Bush Got the Clap

I caught a few minutes of Bush’s speech to the NAACP convention this morning when he made the very libertarian-sounding, heroic, and daring statement that he favored “the blessings of liberty for all people.” Thanks Prez. I often wondered where you stood on that.

Oddly, only one person could be heard clapping in the audience of thousands.

He also falsely stated that “slavery was legal for almost a hundred years.” Well, not exactly. It began in the early 1600s in New England, with Massachussets being the first colony to legalize it, and was not ended in New York until 1855, New Jersey in 1865, and everywhere else shortly thereafter. That’s almost two and a half centuries by my accounting.
