Bus Station Search Harks Back to the Redcoats

David, your post about a general search at a bus station without probable cause, is very distrurbing to me.

Years ago, when they started to bring these kinds of searches into New York State public buildings, I was one of few lawyers to protest. My father, then a sitting judge, was another. We knew that eventually, these “limited” general searches would be expanded to well beyond courthouses. General Warrants were one of the triggers for the American Revolution.
