British Government Medical Care: Communitarian Justice?

The God’s Politics Blog once again sings the praises of socialism.  According to this “Emergent Church” theology, God is a socialist who demands socialism for all, period, and especially in medical care.  Thus, we have yet another Michael Moore-type propaganda post, this time from Gareth Higgins, who tells us of the wondrous society where every one gets perfect care — for free!  No, there are no lines, no waiting, no people turned down for routine care, nothing like that.  As Higgins writes:

No one in the UK ever worries about how they are going to provide for their own or their family’s health.  This, to me, is an astonishing example of communitarian justice, the highest ethic of humanity: when people care for their fellow people, with no concern for individual reward.  And this is why, if I require major medical intervention in the future, instead of receiving it in the United States where I now live, work, and hope to contribute as a grateful immigrant, I may have to go back home.

If anyone wonders about the truthfulness of what Higgins is writing, here are a couple sobering reminders that Great Britain is not a medical Oz.
