Boston’s Finest ‘Preserve and Protect’ — Their Income

In a battle that has been going on for years, Massachusetts police still insist on getting paid big bucks to hold signs at construction sites. “Police in Boston and elsewhere…can earn huge amounts of money” (all from the taxpayer, of course) says the Globe, and it certainly beats chasing dangerous criminals (maybe they could try signs that say “Stop, Thief!”).

The police haven’t yet publicized their unspoken but irrefutable argument: Unlike mere construction crews, the cops can Tase speeders, while they hold the sign with their other hand.

Country’ll grow.
