Bill Kristol Calls Ron Paul a ‘Crackpot’

This YouTube is a great demonstration of what neoconservatives believe: in the warfare, welfare, corporate, police state–and global hegemony. Other countries better like it, or we’ll destroy them. And no one better question the shifting rationales, since we have always been at war with Islamic East Asia.

Kristol is horrified that Ron Paul wants to question some of the past and current practices of the biggest government in the history of the world, to call us away from empire and the corporate state, and to our constitutional republican origins. And note Kristol’s identification of the American nation with the central government. To be “anti-American” is to disagree with social welfare spending, corporate welfare spending, and Pentagon spending.

Ron Paul, whom Kristol also calls a “crank,” regrets the killing of 650,000 soldiers and civilians in Lincoln’s tariff war, and the killing of 3-4 million Vietnamese civilians and soldiers in that invasion and occupation. And by the way, Vietnam has private property, a stock market, a booming free market economy, and massive trade with the world, despite Kristol’s Soviet-era slur.

Kristol believes in blood and empire; Ron believes in freedom and peace. That is the issue before us. And when Kristol says Ron will go nowhere, he is telling one of his “noble lies” to try to fool the people for their own alleged good. But it won’t work. (Thanks to Michael Hartman.)
