Attacks on Musical Instrument Owners and Manufacturers

Is there something wrong with prices rationing scarce woods and ivories that are in demand? Why not let the price system work so that suppliers will create them? No, Congress instead, in its usual anti-market manner, raises one obstacle and restriction after another — backed up by seizure laws and draconian penalties. Congress thinks nothing of imposing harsh ex post penalties on existing owners of guitars and other instruments. It will be a happy day when the national government totally crumbles and fails.
