At Least They Could Slug Each Other

Scott Adams points out that the Taiwanese parliament has a major advantage over our Congress: Fairly regularly brawls break out in which legislators start physically attacking each other, (don’t miss the video).

Scuffles often break out over bills in the self-ruled island’s sharply divided parliament, where opposition parties hold a slim majority.

Earlier this year, dozens of legislators threw shoes and pulled ties over a similar bill, and in the past they have also hurled lunchboxes and microphones at each other.

This is a wonderful thing for at least two reasons. First, the violence inherent in the system is made manifest. Second, and best of all, the pols actually provide something useful: entertainment. What reform needs to be enacted to bring enlightened Taiwanese practices to the US?
