As Usual, the Government Turns Lemonade Into Lemons

Seven children (including two 5-year olds!!) were caught red-handed—or, in this case, yellow-handed—selling lemonade without a permit. The scofflaws’ illegal “hooch” stand was shut down—only to be opened again when the Keystone Kops did a little research (I didn’t even know they could read) and found out that it is legal for children under the age of 16 to sell lemonade without State sanction a permit. Phew!!

As I always say (paraphrasing Chief Justice John Marshall): “The power to license is the power to control.”
