People in government love to cause turmoil in regular people’s lives, to oppress, humiliate, and inconvenience us, to lower their standard of living, to show forth their power, feel important, and make sure you never forget who is in charge. The latest example is the call by the appropriately named LaHood to ban all use of cellphones in cars. For you and me, that is. It will not apply to bureaucrats and lobbyists in their limos, nor cops, soldiers, secret police, and the rest of the security hive.
