Britain’s Lord Stern has suggested that the eating of meat contributes to global warming and threatens the planet. In the opinion of this former chief economist of the World Bank, methane from cows and pigs is a far greater contributor to global warming gases than is carbon dioxide. I wonder if the good Lord will take his proposal to its logical extension and urge us carnivores to turn to cannibalism instead. Such a move would help accomplish two ends long sought by many environmentalists: [1] to help rid the planet of us pesky humans, [2] provide a real-world opportunity for us to serve our fellow man!
