John Stossel has been doing some pretty good stuff on Fox Business, and he recently had some panel discussions on libertarianism. A few of the discussants were principled opponents of statism; others were conservatives of various stripes masquerading as libertarians. In a Q and A session, P.J. O’Rourke represented the more statist wing of the movement, and Judge Andrew Napolitano gave the more purist answers. Taxes? Do away with all of them. They are all theft. And how to fund the army and navy? The judge answers, Who says we even need an army and navy — and why do they need to be financed through the government or through taxes?
What a heroic example of radical libertarianism Napolitano is. It is surreal to me that he has been on Fox this whole time.1:26 pm on April 9, 2010 Email Anthony Gregory
