I did not see it, but last night the Academy of Country Music had an All-Star Salute to the Troops. Many country singers paid “tribute to our country’s remarkable all-volunteer military force,” says an e-mail a friend received. Note the word “volunteer.” Never forget that everyone who joins the military and helps to carry out the evil that is U.S. foreign policy does so voluntarily. This is one reason why I always emphasize that they are responsible for the death and destruction they mete out–not the president, the politicians, and the other people that some apologists for the military try to shift the blame to.
