America’s Decline into Unconstitutional Money: Second Installment

The story of America’s decline into unconstitutional money continues in a new article I have prepared that can be found here.; also to be found within my archive. This article summarizes another portion of Edwin Vieira’s out-of-print Pieces of Eight, alloyed with the gloss that comes from this finance prof. Actually, the era and material covered (1789-1860) show no constitutional decline in the coinage acts and government debt issues, but an affirmation of constitutional provisions on money. If you ever wanted to understand bimetallism, this article may help a bit. If you want to know what it meant to regulate the value of coins, this is explained. If you want to see how the Supreme Court mangled the Constitution in Knox v. Lee (1870), some of that is in here too. All articles on scribd are readable; but to be able to download articles from this source, you must join. It’s painless and harmless. I’ve gotten zero spam, ads, solicitations, or e-mails as a consequence.
