The Christian minister is called to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ. Let me make this quite clear. It isn’t the business of the Christian minister to express his opinions, his criticisms, his agreement or his disagreement (with government policy). It is not the business of the Christian Church to preach patriotism either. It’s often done so. The Church has often been nothing but a recruiting sergeant, and a recruiting station. And it’s a travesty of the Christian ministry.
