Ain’t Democracy Grand?

Writes Ralph Raico:

According to a recent poll of 1,000 American adults: Two-thirds could not name a single member of the U. S. Supreme Court. More could name Michael Jackson as the composer of “Beat It” and “Billie Jean” than knew that the Bill of Rights are amendments to the Constitution.

When asked to identify the source of “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs,” more than half thought the author was Washington, Tom Paine, or Obama. More than one-third could not identify the century in which the American Revolution took place. More than half believed that either the Civil War, Emancipation Proclamation, or the War of 1812 took place before the American Revolution.

Dear LRCers: these people have ultimate control of your life, liberty, and most especially of all of your property. Do you think that maybe the whole system might have to be junked?
