Writes Luis P. Almeida:

Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys passed away last Friday. He frequently discussed his Buddhist beliefs of non-violence and compassion towards others.

Here is a link to a YouTube in which he discusses US intervention in the Middle East in 1998. I edited it to begin at the point where he speaks. Anyone interested can rewind to see a montage of their videos and Chuck D, the founder of Public Enemy’s tribute to the Beastie’s.

Adam Yauch, a.k.a. MCA, will be missed by those of us that grew while the message behind his music was maturing. It seems that we followed his journey from fighting for one’s right to party towards non-violently fighting for the freedom and well being of all people.  RIP MCA.
