That’s how the New York Times, which usually LOVES taxes, taxes and more taxes, describes the efforts of state and local politicians everywhere to plunder us with more and more “microfees” on everything from tanning bed licensing to golf.  New Yorkers must be at the top of the Most Plundered list for such an article to appear in the Times.
