Sorry about the e-mail Bill, but I wasn’t at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, I was at the World Trade Center. To be specific, I was on the 28th floor of Three World Financial Center, the northeast corner overlooking what was the U.S. Customs House and 7WTC, with a stunning view of both towers and a front-row seat for all the action (such as it was). I did not see the first plane hit the north towers, but I heard it hit, and turned around to see firey debris falling out my window. (Colleagues of mine did see the plane hit.) I did see the United jetliner disappear into the south tower, and fled southern Manhattan to the relative safety of the Jersey side of the Hudson, where I watched the towers fall.
