Is Ron Paul the ‘Supply-Side Mr. Rogers’?

A guy on the Democratic Underground denounces Ron as the “supply-side Mr. Rogers.” Of course, Ron is an opponent of quasi-Keynesian, pro-deficit, pro-government spending, pro-empire “supply-side economics,” and always has been. But I like aspects of the Mr. Rogers analogy. Mr. Rogers was a calm, telegenic, convincing, subtly charismatic, quietly religious minister teaching the Golden Rule on TV. Ron Paul is a calm, telegenic, convincing, subtly charismatic, quietly religious physician teaching the Golden Rule in foreign policy and otherwise, in all areas of public life. He attracts young people of all ages, everyone who is not a stick in the mud. Ron’s teachings of Austrian economics, federal frugality, sound money and banking, and non-interventionism, are resonating with all of us. And it’s about time! (Thanks to Chris)

UPDATE from Spencer Hahn:

It is worth noting that both Ron and Mr. Rogers are from the Pittsburgh area. Maybe it is something in the water that makes folks from around there gentlemanly, dignified, and calm.
