$300 million for Freedom!

How grateful we must be that the USG spent $300 million for ships that sat in harbors, idle, deteriorating, and useless. This is typical of most if not all DoD acquisitions, which are primarily political pork and, as pointed out already, never for freedom, here or anywhere. I remember a former USAF Airmen in Kuwait describing how just a few years ago in Iraq, they’d get a whole set of new computers each year, and throw out last years’ models. A lot of people didn’t want or need the newer computers and the hassle, so they had to throw out never-opened brand new computers as well — plus had a warehouse stuffed full of them. To be an honest American today is to be simply disgusted at Washington.
